FPD direct conversion detector is the latest flat panel from Fujifilm
The detector based on innovative amorphous selenium technology is characterized by high efficiency of X-ray conversion and allows to obtain clearer diagnostic images of anatomical structures. It also overcomes the disadvantages of traditional direct conversion systems, such as high heating and short lifetime. Conventional air cooling is sufficient for the new detector.
Amorphous selenium (a-Se) opens a new era in radiography
The core of the AcSelerate system is a new flat detector with direct signal conversion, which is characterized by high radiation detection efficiency.
It enables more efficient use of X-ray energy and high image quality due to improved modulation transfer function and higher quantum efficiency of the detector. All this contributes to a significant reduction in radiation exposure to the patient.
The developers have also managed to overcome the limitations associated with the heating and short lifetime of traditional flat panel detectors. Conventional air cooling is sufficient for the new detector.
